Welcome to the new Theatre Cambrian season of 2011-2012 !

Whether you are planning on office outing, a fundraiser, a client event or a night out with the family, there is something for everyone this season. This year, we are offering 11 exciting, funny, emotional and entertaining productions. It’s a real artistic treat.

You will rock to the rhythm of the likes of Queen, Bryan Adams, Ray Charles, the Dixie Chicks and Lady Gaga with the smash sequel concert, The Best of Billboard 2. There are all new songs, but it’s the same great party.

Goodbye grey skies, hello blue! Welcome to Milwaukee! The whole gang, Richie, Potsie, Ralph Malph and the “King of Cool”, Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli, are all here. Happy Days is sure to be a fun, family friendly treat!

One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the live stage! The Kids’ Curtain production of Footloose will have everyone dancing to the musical tunes that shook the 80s.

The Gin Game is the winner of the 1978 Pulitzer Prize, which originally starred Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn who uses the game of gin as a metaphor for life. This play will kick off the 2011-2012 dinner theatre series.

Theatre Cambrian announced that it has made minor changes to its 2011-2012 season to accommodate the World Premiere of a new Canadian comedy. "We have replaced the November 2011 production of Jake’s Women with the new Canadian comedy "Friends, with Benefits.”, states Mark Mannisto, executive director of Theatre Cambrian. "We are extremely honoured to be given the opportunity to be the first theatre company to produce this charming script by Kate Horzempa & L. E. Hines.” adds Mannisto. Whose Wives Are They Anyway? has the Ashley Maureen Cosmetics Company being sold. Two of its vice presidents, David and John, have planned a “guy’s weekend” before new C.E.O. MS. Hutchison, arrives.

The action is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Steel Magnolias is filled with hilarious repartee and humorously revealing verbal collisions.

One of the most sophisticated, entertaining plays ever written is Private Lives. Elyot and Amanda, once married and now honeymooning with new spouses at the same hotel, meet by chance and reignite the old spark.

In a San Francisco loft, aspiring author Felix focuses his binoculars on a prostitute plying her trade. He complains to the landlord, has her evicted, and finds he has trouble pounding on his door. This version of The Owl and the Pussycat is no longer a take for the kids.

Two working class brothers, one a big goof, the other a slightly more cerebral fellow come to a woodsy cabin for a weekend. While there, they run into two sisters. The Melville Boys is Norm Foster’s biggest hit.

Translated by Michel Tremblay, Mambo Italiano achieves its overwhelming power through a perfect balance of fast-paced comedy and poignant drama. Mambo Italiano will be Theatre Cambrian’s first francophone dinner theatre production.
