March Break Dramafest returns again for another year

Once again, Theatre Cambrian is excited to be offering the Marchbreak Dramafest to the young, up-and-coming stars of the community. “Each March, Dramafest is a huge hit as students spend their March Break singing, acting, and dancing their vacation away at Theatre Cambrian,” states Executive Director, Mark Mannisto.

Theatre Cambrian’s Marchbreak Dramafest will run from 9 am - 4 pm, March 12-16 at Theatre Cambrian (40 Eyre Street).

Theatre Cambrian's Marchbreak Dramafest will allow children the freedom to express their creative sides as they learn the fundamentals of stage acting, singing, and choreography. All the while, Theatre Cambrian's instructors put an extra emphasis on the FUN in fundamentals.

On tap this session will be theme-oriented days in which all activities of the day will be designed specifically around that day’s theme. Instructors are planning to give some children a chance to direct scenes while also acting in scenes. Children will also be challenged to improve skills through improv games and other such activities. They will learn to choose the correct monologue and audition song for musical theatre and further learn innovative and creative ways of boosting self-confidence.

A portion of each day will be devoted to the having the children prepare a one-act musical performance to showcase for parents, friends, brothers, and sisters at the end of the week.

“ The Marchbreak Dramafest is the perfect opportunity to have your children’s first experience in theatre be a memorable one. Many of our participants have gone on to performances both with Theatre Cambrian and the Sudbury Theatre Centre,” states Mannisto.
